With 1000 teachers and approximately 8000 students, the Gewerblich-Industrielle Berufsschule Bern (gibb) is the largest cantonal institution for basic and advanced vocational training in Switzerland and is located at various locations in the city of Bern. For gibb, isolutions implemented a digital personnel dossier based on SharePoint 2016 and the CollaborationSuite (CS), which replaces the paper-based personnel files.

Initial situation

Previously, personnel documents were stored centrally in HR at gibb in paper form. In addition, personnel dossiers were stored at the various school locations. With regard to the administration of personnel records, gibb faced various challenges: Duplications, lack of transparency and the time-consuming search for documents. In order to put an end to the “shadow dossiers” and to guarantee access to files from any location, the school management decided to introduce the electronic personnel dossier.


For gibb, isolutions realized a digital personnel dossier on the basis of SharePoint 2016 and the CollaborationSuite (CS), which replaces the paper-based personnel files. The CS enables a new personnel dossier to be created within minutes using an intuitive wizard. In addition to the personnel data, further information such as department and supervisor can be entered. New HR documents can now be added very easily. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, it takes just a few steps to navigate to the employee dossier and file the documents in the appropriate categories.
